Chesterfield is a predominantly African-American neighborhood located on the South side of Chicago. The area is comprised of older and younger residents who are participating in the growth and economic viability of this growing community. Visitors are greeted with a well maintained area that exemplifies unity and strength. There is a sense of stability and security to the neighborhood.
Leadership of the organization is headed by Elizabeth Prowell, President and Eli H. Washington, Chairman of the Board of Directors. A dedicated and committed Board assists with the work of the Council.
Chesterfield Community Council, established in 1952, is a nonprofit community-based organization whose sole purpose is to promote, unify and assist in all endeavors pertaining to the Chesterfield Community.
